all right, this hectic weekend is finally over, and i can talk about prometheus now
i didn’t care for any of the characters; they were all uniformly boring and terrible. i cared for idris elba’s character because i care about idris elba (same with benedict wong’s character, ravel)
the best scenes were the body horror scenes i.e. the scenes i came to see
i took a cursory look through the prometheus tag and skimmed through this lj meta everyone’s linking to, which cemented the fact that i really don’t care about this film or all of its pseudo-philosophical underworkings it tries to bludgeon you with.
at least i got to see fassbender’s character ripped apart though the POINT of him being decapitated is lost as he was allowed to run his mouth ‘til the very end
>tried to not flip my shit and actually CONFIRM (so then i could flip my shit)
>Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
